A New Record

Here is the scenario: the last game of a 3-city, 9-game with 2 off days roadtrip and there is rain in the forecast. The forecast showed heavy rain for 5:00 pm eastern. The game began at 1:38 pm eastern. It was a little before 4:00 and the eighth inning was starting as was the rain. The Cardinals scored 5 runs and batted around in the order. As the top of the eighth inning ended it began raining harder. kudos to the umpires as they let play continue even though the game was essentially over with the Redbirds leading 9 - 0. The game ended at 4:45 and it began pouring as we left the ball park for the charter flight home. I look back now and laugh as I remember the number of times someone said "we're fucked". A record number of times at that.
