Weird Beginning Strange Ending
The Cubs beat the Cards 4 - 2 tonight in 2:34 at Busch Stadium. This game started weird and ended weird. The Cubs scored all their runs in the 1st inning off the best pitcher in the National League - Adam Wainwright. The game ended with the Cardinals' base runner being called out for going out of the base path while trying to break up a double play. This was the correct call by the umpire and it stopped a Redbird's rally and ended the game. Between the first inning and the ninth inning this was a wonderfully played baseball game and a perfectly paced telecast. A strange beginning and a stranger ending describes this game telecast perfectly.
